Fantasy Football Must Starts: Week 3

Jimmy Garoppolo was great last week. threw for nearly 300 yards and 3 touchdowns in their blow out win over the Bengals. Now he gets the win-less Steelers, that game has a 43 point O/U and i’m taking the over. The Steelers defense has allowed a passer rating of 109.1 on 1st down since last season, which is the highest in the NFL. They just allowed Russel Wilson to pick them apart for 300 yards and 3 touchdowns last week and the 49ers could see some extra possessions if Mason Rudolph struggles early. Look for Garoppolo to continue his success this week.
I know, I know, he has been pretty bad so far. But the breakout game is here. Winston hosts the hapless Giants that got shredded by Dak Prescott and Josh Allen so far. Winston also showed much improvement from week 1 to week 2 and I expect that to continue going forward. The weapons are there, the match up is great, he is my #1 streaming QB this week.
I’m pretty sure we all expected a little bit more from Miles Sanders early on, but if he’s going to breakout, it’s gonna be this game. The Eagles suddenly find themselves without Alshon Jeffrey, and Desean Jackson so they will lean on the run early and often against Detroit. Detroit, a team that has allowed big games to both David Johnson, and Austin Ekeler, especially through the air. Miles Sanders could easily have a 20+ touch week with a lot of production being through the air. He is locked in for me as a FLEX play in every league.
David Montgomery had 19 touches last week, and scored his first touchdown. Those touches only equated to 68 yards but it was nice to see the volume spike up after his 7 touch week 1. The Bears have ran the ball 44.3% of times since 2017 and the Redskins have allowed 4.7 YPC since 2017 (T-4th highest). The game script should be in the Bears favor so look for Montgomery to see a heavily dosage of carries in this one. This offense is also still figuring things out.
It’s looking like it’s gonna be a real big year from the third year receiver. Scoring in back to back games, and topping 100 yards against the Chargers. Now he gets the Eagles in a game that should be a high scoring affair. Philly has allowed 3 different receivers to top 100 yards so far through 2 weeks and they’re about to give up there 4th.
The air raid system is as promised, Kyler Murray has attempted 94 passes in 2 games and Kirk has 20 targets thus far. Topping 100 yards in his last outing against a difficult Baltimore secondary. Playing 84% of his snaps from the slot, it looks as if Kirk may be Kyler Murray’s favorite target. he is a locked in WR2 for me this week.
The ageless Greg Olsen is coming off a 110 yard effort against the Bucs, and now he gets the Arizona Cardinals. The Birds have horrendous in guarding the tight end position giving up 6-131-1 to T.J. Hockenson in week 1 and 8-112-1 to Mark Andrews last week ( not to mention a touchdown to Hayden Hurst as well ). Cam Newton is out, but with the way he has been playing so far, that might not be a downgrade. Greg Olsen is a firm TE1 this week.
