Welcome back!

This is the week 6 edition of the Fluke or Truth series! You already know what’s going on, so let’s jump right in.

Jarvis Landry, WR, Cleveland Browns

  • Line: 2 catches, 11 yards. 3.1 points (PPR)

Ouch. Landry is a guy that was really hyped up as the Browns go to, #1 receiver this offseason. So far he has not given owners much reason to doubt him until this dud in a home shellacking to the LA Chargers. What I’m about to tell you is being made a big deal around fantasy circles and for good reason. Hold tight to this Cleveland offense for the next month. The Browns next four matchups are: @Tampa Bay, @Pittsburgh, vs Kansas City, vs Atlanta. All four of those opponents rank the bottom five in the league for pass defense. These teams are being absolutely shredded through the air every week and the Browns will follow suit. Who knows how many, if any, of those games the Brownies will win but there will definitely be fireworks in every one. Fire up your Baker Mayfields, your David Njokus, and your Jarvis Landrys. It’s going to be a fun four weeks for fantasy.

Fluke

Stefon Diggs, WR, Minnesota Vikings

  • Line: 3 catches, 33 yards. 1 carry, 9 yards. 7.2 points (PPR)

Another week, another Adam Thielen explosion. That guy is showing no signs of stopping and maybe as a Diggs owner you’re a little concerned. Will Diggs be able to produce consistently? I wouldn’t worry too much about Diggs, we all know his ability and that he has a rapport with Kirk Cousins.

There may be days when Thielen continues to produce and Diggs takes a backseat, but the upside on Diggs is bona fide WR1 potential every single week. There is no reason to be concerned and Diggs continues to be a player that needs to be started every single week. A matchup at Metlife against the Jets against an average pass defense should get Diggs back on track to posting quality, WR1 numbers for your fantasy team. Start the superstar with confidence. Nothing to worry about here.

Fluke

Jordan Howard, RB, Chicago Bears

  • Line: 14 carries, 69 yards. 1 fumble lost. 4.9 points

It’s been a tough stretch for Howard and his fantasy owners as it is his second straight single digit performance and third in five games. It certainly appears that Tarik Cohen is cutting into Howard’s fantasy value after posting two quality weeks back to back (53.5 points, ppr). This is certainly something to be concerned about as we move forward through the season. Ahead for Howard and the Bears is a home tilt against the New England Patriots. I don’t anticipate Chicago to dominate and control this game with their offense in the traditional pound the ball, control the clock style and seems to suit Howard best. They may play from behind or to keep up, which scripts far better for Tarik Cohen. It will take another week to really verify this, but I am worried and would suggest acquiring Cohen in a trade if you have not already gotten him. I have to call truth on this one.
